The Problem: Collaboration among environmental organizations is stifled because of limited resources and competitive funding. The Solution: A website that facilitates project based collaboration among small environmental non-profits. The SparkBox website will provide a platform for resource sharing, direct communication, and project collaboration. SparkBox will then host events to unite the leaders of participating organizations and fuel collaboration and innovation. Furthermore, we will facilitate production of co-created events and initiatives. How it's different: There is no other platform that joins non-profits directly and locally to work on projects together, share resources, and innovate ideas.
Philadelphia, PA - As lead organizer for 350 Philly, I realize just how many organizations are working toward similar goals. Issues like fracking, industrial clean up, and political influence can only be taken on with group effort.
Timeline: June – Launch the website July – Outreach to local organizations and gather resources Thursday, August 9 – Collaboration event September/October – Facilitate 2 joint events October – Write manual making the process fully replicable
If we facilitate non-profit collaboration, we can spark innovation and increase productivity.
Is your project a new idea, or was it initiated after November 2011?: It's a new idea!
